This government funded program is here to offer help for victims of mass violence and terrorism that occurs within and outside the U.S. This can also be seen as a compensation program for those who experienced international terrorism. This type of help can offer emergency relief, training and technical assistance as well as assistance that is continually ongoing.
For those victims of international terrorism, this is for expenses incurred for mental health and medical needs. It can also help with those wages that were lost and also the funeral and burial costs. There will be other miscellaneous costs.
To be eligible to apply you will need to meet criteria depending on the grant. Eligible applicants for funding under the International Terrorism Victim Compensation Program (ITVCP) an individual must be a national of the United States or an officer or employee of the U.S. Government, as of the date on which the act of international terrorism occurred and must have suffered direct physical or emotional injury or death as a result of an act of international terrorism occurring on or after December 21, 1988. The amount of financial aid available varies depending on terrorism/mass violence event and specific needs.
